Backup and Restore

 The files on your PC are important. Losing any work you have done or photographs you have taken would be a tragedy. This can happen when a hard disk fails or a virus has gained entry to your PC or you have a power failure whilst working on a file.

Backing up important data must be done regularly by one of several methods.

1. Writing your files to a CD or DVD
2. Copying your files to another partition on your hard drive
3. Copying your files to another computer
4. Copying your files to an external hard drive

Note that we do not recommend relying on memory sticks as a sole backup system. They are unsuitable for permanent storage of information.
